Focused care for unfocused minds.
Hi! My name is Dr. Arshom Foroutan and I am a family medicine physician who has lived with ADHD my entire life. After navigating the challenges of medical training and the healthcare system firsthand, I recognized how poorly traditional models accommodate neurodiverse patients and how empowering it can be when care is adapted to fit people, not the other way around.
Bonsai Health was built to do exactly that. As a fully virtual clinic serving Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC, it provides ADHD-informed primary care, diagnostic evaluations, and ongoing telehealth follow-up for adults who need flexible support. Every process—from booking to messaging—is structured to minimize friction and help you get care even on your busiest days.
The name “Bonsai Health” comes from one of my many past ADHD hyperfixations, bonsai trees. Unlike other temporary fascinations, I intentionally chose to stay with this one because it demanded what ADHD often resists: patience, long-term care, and a quiet kind of discipline. Over time, the practice of bonsai became symbolic. It is a reminder that things which require great attention, support, and intention often become the most meaningful. In the same way that a bonsai thrives through consistent, thoughtful nurturing, so too can people with ADHD thrive with the right kind of care.
I earned my medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2022 and trained in family medicine residency for three years. My clinical experience includes serving as a primary care provider for diverse patient populations, with a particular focus on mental health and ADHD management.
In addition to my clinical background, I bring a deep, personal understanding of ADHD, having lived with it throughout my life. This lived experience shapes how I listen, structure care, and help people build systems that actually work for their brains. My goal is to make ADHD healthcare approachable, judgment-free, and effective for adults who want to feel better organized and supported.
